Dwayne Hartsoe, the Athletic Director at Fort Mill High School, has built a legacy defined by decades of excellence, leadership, and unwavering dedication to high school athletics.
Earlier this month he was inducted into the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (SCBCA) Hall of Fame, a prestigious honor recognizing his remarkable impact on the sport statewide.
Over his distinguished coaching career, Hartsoe achieved more than 444 varsity basketball victories while earning 10 Region Coach of the Year titles and the 1995 State Coach of the Year award. His influence extended far beyond the basketball court, having coached football, baseball, and golf across notable South Carolina programs including Roy Hudgens Academy, Williston Elko, Lancaster, South Pointe, and Fort Mill. Combined with his leadership as SCBCA President in 2008, Head Coach for the 2018 Carolinas All-Star Classic, and a previous Region Athletic Director of the Year recognition, Hartsoe’s Hall of Fame induction reflects a lifetime of transformative mentorship both on the sidelines and in athletic administration.
